BirthIn Nigeria's House of Representatives, Anthony Enahoro moved that the House accept self-government in 1956 as "a primary political objective." The Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, moved to change "in 1956" to "as soon as practicable," and the Action Group and NCNC members walked out in protest. The three Action Group federal ministers resigned the same day.
