Images and video remain the property of their original creators or rights holders (Wikimedia Commons contributors, museums, YouTube channel owners and others) and are credited where known; we don't claim ownership of them.

The original writing and data on this site are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). That covers the researched articles, the long-form histories, On This Day entries, the glossary, the governance map dataset, and the JSON returned by the site's API.
