CAR's Gen. Bokassa inspired Idi Amin when he visited Uganda in 1972, draped in medals. Amin loved it and got medals for himself. But Bokassa was not done. By 1977 he declared self Emperor, CAR an Empire, spent $30 million for coronation, $5m gold Crown, and a Gold-plated Throne.
