This 'Monument of 22 November' in Conakry, Guinea, celebrates a FAILED 1970 Portuguese invasion of Guinea in an attempt to overthrow the charismatic President Sekou Touré. Guinea actively opposed the colonisation of its neighbour Guinea Bissau, which angered the Portuguese.
